EasiYo Yoghurt Maker
Buying provisions is fairly easy in most of the places we sail to, but some of our plans for the next year will require us to be self sufficient for longer periods. With this in mind, I have purchased a new EasiYo Yoghurt Maker so that we can treat ourselves to fresh yoghurt whenever the mood takes us. I have used this maker in the South Pacific and on Atlantic crossings and always been pleased with how simple and effective it is. You simply shake one of the yoghurt sachets with water in the tub provided and then place in the flask with boiling water. Leave for 8 hours or overnight and you have fresh yoghurt.
I generally buy the plain Greek flavour so that I can add my own tropical fruits, use it to make tzatziki, add to curries etc...but there are many different flavours available now. Amazingly it is possible for me to purchase freeze dried yoghurt cultures in the Caribbean and I have used electric and other yoghurt makers in the past, but I personally find the EasiYo Maker the easiest way to produce fresh yoghurt on board.
